Care Instructions
🦋 Care Instructions for preserved Insects, Butterflies and Bone Art
To ensure your artwork remains preserved and beautiful for a long time, please pay attention to the following care instructions:
📌 General
Do not touch: Preserved insects and bones are delicate. Please only touch them when necessary – ideally with clean hands or gloves.
No direct sunlight: UV light can fade colors and dry out materials. Choose a shady and protected place for your artwork.
Store in a dry place: High humidity can cause mold or deformation. The ideal humidity is below 60%.
Avoid dust: If necessary, clean gently with a soft brush or blower – do not blow or wipe!
⸻
🦗 Insects and Butterflies
Protective sealed: All preserved insects are usually sealed and protected. Please do not open the frames or boxes to avoid damage or infestation.
Insect protection: Although everything is carefully preserved, it is useful to occasionally place a bag of lavender or some cedar wood nearby – this keeps harmful insects away. Alternatively, you can also apply lavender oil or clove oil to the back of the frame edges using a cotton swab.
⸻
💀 Bones and skulls
Natural material: Bones can naturally darken or develop a patina over time – this is not a defect, but part of the natural aging process.
Do not wet clean: Only dry clean if necessary. Avoid water and cleaning agents.
